Core Features
Stream Capture provides a seamless real-time image collection workflow
Real-time DOM Observer
Uses MutationObserver to watch for new images as Grok generates them. Detection happens instantly, no manual refresh needed.
Auto Queue System
Every detected image is automatically added to the download queue. Just keep scrolling — Stream Capture handles the rest.
One-Click Batch Download
When you're done browsing, download all captured images at once. No more saving one by one.
Smart Deduplication
Automatically filters out duplicate images already in your collection using hash comparison.
How Stream Capture Works
Four simple steps to capture every Grok image automatically
Start Monitoring
Open the extension and click 'Start Stream Capture' to begin real-time monitoring of the Grok page.
Browse & Scroll
Browse Grok normally. Every new image that appears on the page is automatically detected and queued.
Review Captured
Check the capture queue to see all auto-captured images. Remove any you don't want.
Batch Download
Click 'Download All' to save every captured image to your local drive in one go.
Technical Highlights
MutationObserver API
Uses the browser's native MutationObserver to efficiently detect DOM changes without performance impact.
Background Service Worker
Runs in Chrome's service worker for persistent monitoring even when switching tabs.
IndexedDB Cache
Stores captured image metadata in IndexedDB for fast dedup checking and queue management.
Privacy First
All image detection and downloading happens locally. No data is sent to any external server.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Stream Capture
Does Stream Capture work on all Grok pages?
Yes. Stream Capture monitors any Grok page where image generation occurs, including the main feed, individual post pages, and search results. It uses DOM observation so it works wherever Grok renders new images.
How many images can be captured in a single session?
There is no hard limit. Stream Capture can queue hundreds of images in a single monitoring session. The queue is stored in IndexedDB so it persists even if you switch tabs or briefly close the extension panel.
Will Stream Capture slow down my browser?
No. Stream Capture uses Chrome's native MutationObserver API which is highly efficient. The observer only fires when DOM changes occur, so CPU usage is near zero while you are not actively generating images. A background service worker handles queuing without blocking the main thread.
Can I pause and resume monitoring?
Yes. Click the "Stop Monitoring" button in the extension panel to pause capture at any time. Previously captured images remain in the queue. Click "Start Stream Capture" again to resume — new images are added to the same queue.
Does Stream Capture automatically remove duplicate images?
Yes. Stream Capture uses hash comparison to detect and skip images that are already in your collection or already in the current queue. This prevents downloading the same image twice when you scroll back up or revisit a post.
What image formats does Stream Capture support?
Stream Capture downloads images in their original format as served by Grok — typically JPEG and PNG. The original resolution and quality are preserved. No re-encoding or compression is applied during download.
Is Stream Capture available in the free version?
Stream Capture is a PRO-exclusive feature. The free version of GrokMediaDownloader supports manual batch download of visible images. Upgrading to PRO ($4.99 lifetime) unlocks Stream Capture, Video Gen Queue, Story Mode, and Project Download.
